Ryan Zeitler is a viola and violin teacher with 10 years of teaching experience and 20 years of playing experience. He has helped numerous students successfully audition for the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestras and the Howard County Gifted and Talented Orchestras, and has coached sectionals for the latter. Ryan also has extensive experience introducing beginner musicians to string playing and helping them build strong technical and musical foundations.

As a student, Ryan served as principal viola of the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestra’s top ensemble, YO, and was selected for both the All-Eastern Orchestra and the Interlochen Viola Institute. He comes from a family deeply rooted in music education, with his mother, uncle, aunt, and both maternal grandparents all serving as music educators in Maryland.

In addition to teaching at Sakura Music Academy, Ryan teaches with OPUS Community Music School and maintains a private studio, working with students individually and in small groups. He believes that every student learns differently and that lessons should be adapted to meet each learner’s unique needs while fostering a lifelong enjoyment of music. At the same time, he emphasizes engaging lessons, consistent home practice, and challenging yet attainable goals as essential ingredients for musical growth and success.
